Reschedules
We get it, things come up and sometimes original game dates no longer work for your team. We have a flexible re-scheduling policy and will work with teams to the utmost of our abilities to change game schedules when necessary. Please follow the below procedure and keep in mind the following requirements:
A valid reason must be provided for a re-schedule. Re-scheduling games causes issues/concerns for both teams, managers, and families. Abusing this system will create an adjustment to our flexible re-scheduling policy. Missing key player would NOT be considered a valid reason!
Any changes that need to be made during the season must be received a minimum of 5 days (120 Hours) prior to the original game date. Games will not be rescheduled if the request is received less than 5 days prior to the scheduled game date. No Exceptions!
All requests MUST go through the registered team manager and coach.
There will be a $50 reschedule fee to be paid by the team requesting a reschedule. This does not include instances where league schedulers may have made a mistake based on agreed dates at self-schedule meetings. Corrections are at no cost to the teams.
To reschedule a NYSL game follow the below procedure.
You must first contact the opposing team manager and/or coach. For help finding opposing team contacts use the help guide:
BOTH coaches will need to agree on two (2) available re-schedule dates that suit both teams. Do not send in the online form until both teams agree on two (2) dates.
Once you have agreed on two (2) dates, the requesting team must fill out and submit the online reschedule form. Upon receiving the re-schedule request, NYSL will confirm the request with both teams by e-mail, giving them the date, time, and field. We will only accept reschedules from the online form.
The new game information will then be updated on the NYSL schedule. The rescheduled game will appear in red on the schedule.
If teams cannot agree to a new game schedule, the game will be played on the original date and location, or it will be regarded as a forfeit.
Forfeits: Teams MUST notify the league by emailing tbrown@nysleague.org with the game number, date, time, location, and opponent of the forfeited game. Any forfeits/no shows will result in a $100 fee plus field and referee fees for that game.
Any teams that no-shows or forfeits a game within less than 12 hours of the scheduled match will be assessed a $250 fee plus field and referee fees for that game.
Reschedule payments can be made online at online reschedule form. The payment gateway will be activated at the start of the season.
